Become A MAPVA Sponsor

We are now giving the people an opportunity to become a Sponsor by category. These contributions will be used for production and distribution of our newsletter, disabled sporting events and any other recreational programs that our Chapter office helps host. Without the help of sponsorship, our organization would not exist. So let’s make our pledge now and keep everyone active. All contributions are deemed to have been made to a qualifying (501C3) organization and may be used on your income tax return. Annual contributions for the fiscal year of 2004-2005 will be starting October and sponsorship category is as follows:

Platinum   $301 or more

Gold          $201 - $300

Silver        $101 - $200

Bronze      $26 - $100

Supporter $1 - $25

If you would not like to have your name published as our sponsor, please let us know when mailing your contribution. Otherwise, it will be known to all our readers in our Chapter Spokesman  newsletter.

For further information, please contact our Chapter office at 800-321-5041 or 405-721-7168.

Announcing PVA’s 2008 National Veterans Day Poster and Essay Contest

I am happy to announce Paralyzed Veterans of America’s fifth annual National Veterans Day Poster and Essay Contest. The theme for this year’s contest is: Veterans: Thank You for Your Service. The contest is open and the deadline for all entries is October 10, 2008 (must be received by). This deadline will allow time for the entries to be judged and winners to be chosen to attend Paralyzed Veterans of America’s Veterans Day celebrations in Washington, DC.

This year the contest will consist of a poster contest for 1st – 4th graders and an essay contest for 5th – 8th graders. The final winner of the poster contest and the essay contest will receive an all-expense paid trip for him/her and one family member to Washington, DC, to participate in Paralyzed Veterans of America’s Veterans Day 2008 ceremonies. The winning results will also be featured in PN.

This contest is a great way for kids to learn about veterans and the sacrifices they have made by giving them a creative outlet to express their gratitude for the service of others. Please spread the word about our contest to your local schools, scouts, boys and girls clubs, church groups, families, friends and others whom you think would be interested in participating.

Visit www.thankyouveterans.org for contest rules or more information. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to sheilas@pva.org.
