The Mid-America Chapter PVA (MAPVA) was established in March of 1979.    Our mission is to service the needs of the local veterans with spinal cord injury or disease as well as the needs of the disabled community.  We advocate for our members in Oklahoma, western Arkansas and sothern Kansas.  PVA has service offices in Oklahoma City, Muskogee, OK and Wichita, KS to ensure these needs are met.  

Both the Paralyzed Veterans of America and Mid-America Chapter PVA historically has been a leader in advocating for the rights of disabled individuals in all areas such as housing, transportation, employment, civil rights, education, and Social Security Income. Mid-America Chapter PVA (MAPVA) recognizes the need for people with disabilities to be actively involved in federal, state, and local legislation that impacts our vital interests. MAPVA is proactive at all levels of government to protect the rights and benefits of our members as well as those of all citizens with disabilities. MAPVA is dedicated to all of these areas as well as targeting barrier-free-design in new and existing construction. In addition, MAPVA has taken a role in working with other organizations for the disabled to assure the protection of their civil rights. Our advocacy department provides a system to defend and promote the rights and interests of our members.

The Mid-America Chapter Paralyzed Veterans of America (MAPVA) would like to welcome you to our website. MAPVA encourages our members to stay active through sports and recreation. This has been a primary objective of our chapter since inception. Our members actively participate in a variety of sports and recreation programs in Oklahoma and Kansas. Some of the programs include wheelchair basketball, billiards, bowling, fishing, hand cycling, hunting, road racing, track and field, trapshooting, snow skiing and water skiing. We also send our members to national sporting events, such as the PVA National Trapshoot Circuit, National PVA Bass Tour, National Veterans Wheelchair Games, and the Winter Ski Clinic.
